Designing systems.
Building experiences.

I am Mehmet Egemen Filiz, a game developer focused on gameplay programming, interactive systems, and atmospheric experiences. I turn ideas into clear, playable prototypes and improve them through research, testing, and iteration.

Selected Work

Projects

A selection of personal, university, and client projects covering gameplay systems, immersive interaction, research, and team development.

University Project

The Deep Market

A satirical first-person shopping game set in a dystopian Netherlands dominated by major supermarket chains. Players must complete a shopping list while managing a limited budget, time pressure, discounts, obstacles, and purchase accuracy.

Old But Gold

03

Old But Gold is an accessible team-based quiz game designed to encourage elderly participants to engage with digital play through familiar questions, simple interaction, and physical controls.

My contribution

Input manager, team turns, score systems, question handling, persistent button states, minigame loading, and interface logic.

Physical interaction

Prototyped Arduino-based controls and connected large physical buttons through an adaptive controller workflow.

VR Labs

04

VR Labs is an immersive CPR training scenario set in a nightclub environment. The project was developed for a client context to explore how virtual reality can support emergency-response learning through interaction and environmental pressure.

My role

Lead Programmer responsible for core implementation, technical coordination, and integration across the prototype.

Systems developed

XR hand interaction, crowd behaviour, emergency scenario flow, lighting events, audio responses, and performance-focused scene logic.

About Me

Developer profile

I am a Creative Media and Game Technologies student at Hanze University of Applied Sciences. My main ambition is to become an independent game developer and create compact PC games with a strong identity and a high level of polish.

I am most interested in gameplay programming and technical design. I enjoy connecting code, interaction, atmosphere, and player feedback into one coherent experience. In team projects, I often take responsibility for core systems, technical planning, and turning uncertain ideas into working prototypes.
